The proposed excessive $22 million Mercer County Park Commission Plan, aka: the obscene overdevelopment we're fighting against. Click here for enlarged view of map, or check out our ALTERNATE, passive recreation plan.

At the May 12th meeting, Hamilton pushed back! The Board’s recommendation to the MCPC was that they need more detailed information before they could even make a recommendation. Thanks to everyone who showed up to the meeting! It's far from over!

The Friends of Dam Site 21 ALTERNATE Plan (truly passive plan). Click here to view this plan, or read all about our comprehensive index and alternatives to the proposed MCPC plan.

New Jersey 101.5 writes an article: "The $19 Million Dollar Park in Mercer County That Nobody Wants." Click here to read.

Here's why: MCPC action approving master plan was unauthorized without first appearing before municipal planning boards. Third party approvals still required. NJ Department of Environmental Protection, i.e. Wetlands and Greenacres for funding. Mercer County Freeholders funding of matching Greenacres monies.

County Park Commission’s idea

of “passive recreation" is:

  • 168 parking spaces plus 5 vehicular access driveways
  • Maintenance yard and operation facilities
  • Increased traffic congestion
  • Destruction of wildlife habitat
  • Demolition of open space
  • Duplication of features that exist at the adjacent 2600 acre Mercer County Park

EQUALS= IRRESPONSIBLE SPENDING OF $19 MILLION OF TAXPAYER MONEY!!!!!
